Netflix users were recently informed that a popular animated series will be concluding soon, sparking mixed reactions among viewers. While some expressed their disappointment, many felt relieved that the show will be given a proper ending.
The series in question is called “Disenchantment,” created by Matt Groening, the mastermind behind “The Simpsons.” The adult-oriented show first premiered in 2018 and revolves around a hard-drinking princess named Bean, her elf companion Elfo, and their personal demon Luci, as they navigate the crumbling medieval kingdom of Dreamland. Over the course of four seasons, “Disenchantment” has garnered a dedicated fanbase, who were eagerly anticipating the fifth season.
Earlier this week, Netflix released a trailer for the upcoming fifth season and confirmed that it will be the final installment. The show’s official Twitter account made the announcement, stating that the last season will premiere on September 1. Fans expressed their sadness over the news, with some hoping that the show would be revived on another platform in the future.
Although many were disappointed by the show’s impending conclusion, they agreed that it was preferable for the series to end on its own terms. It has become increasingly rare for shows to have the opportunity to wrap up their storylines properly. Viewers expressed appreciation for the fact that “Disenchantment” will have a satisfying conclusion, unlike many other Netflix shows that have been canceled prematurely.
The final season of “Disenchantment” will be available for streaming on September 1.
