This Morning is set to have a new male host following Phillip Schofield’s departure. The ITV daytime show recently underwent changes after Schofield left. In May 2023, Schofield announced that he was stepping down from the series after reports of a fallout with his co-host, Willoughby. The following week, Schofield left ITV after admitting to lying about an affair with a younger male colleague on the show.
During Willoughby’s break from the show, two presenters, Josie Gibson and Craig Doyle, took turns hosting. Meanwhile, Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary, who filled in temporarily after Schofield’s exit, continue to host the Friday episodes. ITV has now confirmed that Steve Jones will be hosting an episode of This Morning on Wednesday, August 16, alongside former Big Brother winner Josie Gibson. If the episode goes well, it is likely that Jones will make more appearances on the show.
Steve Jones rose to fame in the early 2000s as one of the presenters of T4. In 2011, he was hired as the host of the US version of The X Factor. He also had a small role in Gurinder Chadha’s 2008 film Angus, Thongs & Perfect Snogging. During his early career, Jones dated One Show host Alex Jones, but their relationship ended after a public argument on Channel 4 involving Angelina Jolie.
Jones is currently in a relationship with model Phylicia Jackson, whom he has been married to since 2014. In the latest episode of This Morning, which aired on August 11, Alison Hammond had to apologize to a young fundraiser who called her out for not showing up to a charity event she had promised to attend.
