Author Carly Fortune has announced that her popular romance novel “Meet Me at the Lake” will be adapted for Netflix by Harry and Meghan’s production company. This news came after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s Archewell Productions recently had their exclusive deal with Spotify terminated. In a statement to The Independent, Fortune expressed her excitement about working with Netflix and Archewell to bring her book to the screen. She described the love story of Will and Fern as dear to her heart and emphasized that she couldn’t imagine a more perfect partnership.

Fortune, a former journalist, published “Meet Me at the Lake” in the US on May 2, and it quickly reached No. 1 on the New York Times bestseller list. The novel follows the journey of two strangers, Will and Fern, as they embark on a daylong adventure that leads to a promise with life-changing consequences. The story is set in Toronto, where Meghan resided before her relationship with Harry began. Elena Armas, another author, praised Fortune’s book as a breathtaking tale of star-crossed lovers in a testimonial.

The news about the adaptation of Fortune’s book comes shortly after Meghan’s 42nd birthday, which she celebrated with little acknowledgment from the Royal Family. The official Twitter accounts for King Charles and Queen Camilla, as well as the Prince and Princess of Wales, did not feature any birthday messages for Meghan, unlike previous years. Similarly, none of the royals sent well wishes for Harry and Meghan’s daughter Lillibet on her second birthday in June.

Recently, Harry and Meghan were photographed leaving an Italian restaurant called Tre Lune. This sighting came after Spotify terminated its £15 million podcasting deal with Archewell Audio. The decision came after just one season of Meghan’s podcast, “Archetypes.” Both parties released a statement announcing their mutual agreement to part ways and expressing pride in the series they had created together.

The collaboration between Archewell Productions and Netflix to adapt Carly Fortune’s “Meet Me at the Lake” showcases the continuing ventures of Harry and Meghan in the entertainment industry. As they dive into producing content for Netflix, the couple aims to bring compelling stories to the screen and make a positive impact on audiences worldwide. With their newfound creative freedom, they have the opportunity to explore a range of storytelling genres and connect with viewers on a global scale. The adaptation of Fortune’s bestselling romance novel is just the beginning of what promises to be an exciting and successful partnership.
