Elsa Pataky has playfully tried to cheer up Chris Hemsworth as he enters his 40s. The Spanish model took to Instagram to ease her husband’s apprehension about reaching this new phase of his life with some banter. On 11 August, the Australian actor shared several selfies of himself indulging in two birthday cakes in front of him. His caption stated: “Thank you for all the birthday wishes! Another lap around the sun and still going strong! I can safely say not a single piece of cake made it through the night.”
In a single photo posted on Pataky’s page, the couple could be seen side by side, with Hemsworth covering his mouth as if he were in shock. Pataky wrote, “That’s exactly the face I made when I turned 40, my love. But don’t worry, it’s going to be okay. I’ll be here for you to hold your hand and give you all my beauty secrets, even if you look better than ever. Happy birthday.”
Last month, the star of “Fast Five” celebrated her own milestone birthday. While Pataky approached her husband of 13 years with a witty birthday wish, Hemsworth chose to send her a heartfelt message on her 40th birthday. Alongside a video of Pataky blowing out her candles, Hemsworth wrote, “Happy birthday to my partner in crime, love you always, here’s to many more.”
Pataky and Hemsworth first met in 2010 and got married in December of the same year, just three months after making their relationship official. They tied the knot during the holiday season in Australia. Now, the couple shares three children: their 11-year-old daughter India, and their twin nine-year-old sons Sasha and Tristan.
Like many others in the industry, the “Thor” actor has taken a step back from work to support the SAG-AFTRA protests. In his Instagram post from 19 July, he stated, “These are challenging times for so many in our industry, and I stand in solidarity with my fellow actors in #SAGAftra who are striking for a better future.”
