Lily James and Michael Shuman have reportedly reignited their romance five months after their split. The couple, who were last seen together at the Glastonbury Festival in June, had reportedly grown apart and decided to end their two-year relationship in February. However, The Mirror has now reported that James, 34, and Shuman, 37, are spending time together again, realizing how much they missed each other. A source stated, “Lily and Mikey have always adored each other and have lots of fun together…Time apart has made them realize how much they missed each other and now they’re picking up where they left off. They looked close at [Glastonbury]. Neither is putting any pressure on it – they’re just seeing how it goes.”

Both representatives of James and Shuman have been contacted by The Independent for comment but have not yet responded. The couple’s relationship first came to light in 2021 when they were caught kissing in Suffolk on Valentine’s Day. They made their public debut as a couple at the 2022 Oscars red carpet event.

Following news of the breakup, James, known for her role in “Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again,” described herself as a “serial relationshipper” and hinted at her single status. During an appearance on the Capital Breakfast show in February, James commented on her experiences with dating apps, saying, “I cringe at most things I do. Yeah, I’ve been a sort of serial relationshipper, so I’ve not had any crazy dating stories – however, I did go on my mates’ Hinge [app] the other day and I just despaired. I mean, come on!” She further criticized the dating pool on the app, stating that the men were “rubbish.”

This isn’t the first time James has faced public scrutiny regarding her love life. In 2020, she made headlines for her alleged involvement with her “Pursuit of Love” co-star Dominic West, who played her character’s father in the romantic drama. The pair were photographed together in Rome, appearing to kiss, which caused speculation due to West’s marriage to Catherine Fitzgerald. However, West and Fitzgerald denied any marital issues and remained together.

In a previous interview with Rolling Stone, James addressed the difficulties of being in the public eye and having personal relationships under constant tabloid scrutiny. She stated, “Women in the public eye at some point experience some sort of difficult situation in their relationship between privacy and your life being in the tabloids…It was a lot. It’s a story as old as time.”

Prior to her relationship with Shuman and the controversy surrounding West, James dated “The Crown” star Matt Smith for five years. They went public with their relationship at the premiere of “Cinderella” in 2015 but broke up in 2019 due to their busy schedules. They briefly reconciled during the first Covid lockdown in 2020 before ending their relationship once again in October of that year.
