Taylor Swift fan responds to critics of her custom-made friendship bracelet dress

One certified Swiftie recently made headlines for wearing a 13-pound dress made entirely of friendship bracelets to a Taylor Swift concert. Laura Petty, a 27-year-old mortgage processor from Charlotte, meticulously crafted the dress by gluing handmade friendship bracelets onto a gold fringe dress. She documented the entire process on TikTok, attracting millions of viewers.

Petty revealed that it took her around three months to complete the dress, working on it during evenings and weekends. While some TikTok users praised her innovative design, others expressed concerns about the dress’s weight and potential noise. They worried that the plastic beads would clash together and disturb other concertgoers.

Despite the criticism, Petty insisted that the dress was not an issue when she wore it to the concert. She received nothing but positive reactions from fellow concertgoers and reassured her followers that the beads were not audible once the music started. She also mentioned that she didn’t feel any discomfort or added weight due to the careful internal support she incorporated into the dress.

As her experience at the Eras tour comes to an end, Petty plans to hang up the dress and keep it as a memento in her closet. Although there have been requests to purchase the dress, she currently intends to sell it to Taylor Swift herself, if the singer ever shows interest.

In addition to Petty’s dress, many other famous individuals attended Taylor Swift’s stadium shows, including Gigi Hadid, Selena Gomez, Miles Teller, and Mark Zuckerberg.

The Independent has reached out to Petty for comment but has not received a response at the time of writing.
