Authorities in Maryland are seeking to speak with a group of individuals who were on the trail at the same time as Rachel Morin on the night she was killed. Harford County officials are urging this group, who were accompanied by dogs, to come forward as potential witnesses. Morin was last seen heading to the Ma & Pa Trail around 6pm on August 5th. After she failed to return home, her boyfriend reported her missing that night. The next day, her body was discovered, and her death is now being investigated as a homicide.
According to detectives, between 6pm and 7:30pm, the group of potential witnesses was walking on the Ma & Pa Trail from the Rt. 24 tunnel towards the split in the trail that leads to the Williams Street trailhead. They were described as either three men, two women, and two dogs or two men, three women, and two dogs.
This latest update in the case has captured the attention of the Bel Air community, where the disappearance and killing of the mother-of-five has caused widespread concern. Despite receiving hundreds of tips, authorities have yet to identify a solid suspect in the case.
Harford County Sheriff Jeffrey Gahler emphasized the lack of a solid suspect, stating that it is unclear whether this was a targeted event specific to Rachel or a random act. He urged the public to remain vigilant and encouraged them to report any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem.
In a briefing on Wednesday, Sheriff Gahler expressed confidence in solving the crime and finding the person responsible for taking Rachel Morin away from her loved ones. He also provided contact information for anyone who believes they may be the individuals the detectives are looking for or anyone with helpful information.
